Your Mechanical Watch - A Guide to Winding
We wanted to take a moment to thank you for choosing Kinetic and purchasing one of our mechanical watches. Your purchase of a mechanical watch is a testament to your appreciation of traditional watchmaking and I am sure you will enjoy many years of reliable timekeeping with your new watch.
As you may know, mechanical watches are powered by a series of gears, springs and a balance wheel, rather than batteries. To ensure that your watch runs accurately, it must be regularly wound.
This is achieved by turning the crown (the small knob located at the side of the watch). Winding the watch in this manner helps to keep the mainspring tight and allows the gears to turn, resulting in the hands moving around the dial to show the time.
We recommend winding your watch daily, or at least every 2-3 days. This will help keep the mainspring tight and ensure that your watch runs reliably. When winding your watch, it is important to do so gently and with a consistent motion. Over-winding can damage the mainspring and result in the watch running too fast.
